Tŷ Newydd is located in the village of Llanystumdwy, between the towns of Cricieth and Pwllheli on the southern coast of the Llŷn Peninsula, north Wales.
Residential Fiction Course: Tŷ Newydd is Wales’ National Writers’ Centre and offers a wide variety of residential creative writing courses and experiences to people of all ages and backgrounds. This is an inspiring and nurturing environment for writing, a beautiful, historic house set in stunning surroundings with views to the Welsh mountains and the sea.

Tŷ Newydd is the National Writers' Centre for Wales and since 1990 has attracted writers from all over the world both as tutors and course participants. One of the loveliest and most historic houses around the Snowdonia National Park, Tŷ Newydd is set in exquisite, wooded surroundings, looking out over Cardigan Bay, between the shapely hills of Eifionydd and the sea, and with the mountains of Wales ranged round the horizon. The house, dating in part from the sixteenth century, offers up-to-date accommodation and facilities combined with a milieu in which individual work can happily flourish. Contact and supervision with skilled and approachable tutors who are themselves eminent practitioners in their own fields of writing ensure guidance, feedback and affirmation to those attending the courses. |
